One Modern Parish, Two Medieval Churches

Welcome to hastings old town, and to the parish of st clement and all saints

Hastings Old Town is a fascinating and lively place which attracted visitors even before 1066! Its two medieval churches have served the spiritual needs of visitors and residents alike since the late fourteenth century and continue to proclaim the same Christian message of hope in the rapidly changing world of today.

We are a Church of England parish which offers traditional Anglican worship, classic hymns and orthodox theology. Rooted in our Christian tradition, we are always open to new ways of expressing and sharing our faith.

Whether you are a cradle Anglican or a newcomer to Christian faith, whether you have a confident faith or a thousand doubts and questions, you are welcome.  If you want to come to a Sunday service or special event, join the choir or just find out when the churches are open to visitors, we hope you will find what you need on our website.

All Saints

As a church community we are committed to discerning how God is calling us to serve him and to love our neighbours in the Old Town and Clive Vale.  In the ups and downs of life we seek to be faithful and compassionate, following St Paul’s exhortation to rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep.  As people of faith, we seek to understand what we believe, as St Anselm said.  We don’t have all the answers, but we warmly invite you to join us as we seek God together.

St Clement's

What can I give Him,

Poor as I am?

If I were a shepherd

I would bring a lamb,

If I were a Wise Man

I would do my part,

Yet what I can I give Him,

Give my heart.

Christina Rossetti (1830-1894), a regular visitor to the Old Town and a worshipper in its churches.
