Hastings Old Town Parish

One Modern Parish, Two Medieval Churches

Traditional Church

We hold two services every Sunday. The 8 a.m. Service is a quiet and reflective celebration of Holy Communion using the traditional language of the 1662 Book of Common Prayer. There is usually a short sermon. The 10 a.m. Parish Eucharist uses the Church of England’s modern service and has a sermon and hymns.

Special services are held during the week on major occasions and occasionally on Sundays and our churches have been the venue for countless baptisms, marriages and funerals across the centuries.

Please contact us via the Parish Office if you wish to organise a baptism, marriage or funeral at either church.

Services are held at one Church for a period of four months before switching to our other Church. This ensures that each Church is the setting for the celebration of all the Christian festivals at least once every two years.

We aim to offer a high standard of liturgy, music and preaching.
